Feeding therapy is designed to improving a child’s feeding skills. A speech language pathologist or occupational therapist who has training in feeding and swallowing disorders works with children and their family to determine the underlying cause of feeding difficulties. This may include improving skills related to sucking, eating from a spoon, trying new food groups or food textures, chewing, and drinking from a cup.
